My Approach

I tailor my approach to cater to the individual needs of clients. I provide compassionate, non judgemental and confidential space to clients with regard to a client centred approach.

I attend to body and mind of client, making the client understand the connections between the brain and the body. I believe in psychoeducating the clients to get clarity about their challenges and growing edges. I integrate various modalities of Psychodynamic approach, Internal Family System (IFS), Inner Child Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA) and EMDR therapy to cater to the needs of clients.

I strongly advocate mindfulness and meditation. It is a path to self awareness and self compassion. I believe that mindful meditation brings self control, tolerance, flexibility, improved concentration and mental clarity. It also promotes the ability to relate to others and one’s self with kindness, acceptance and compassion. I incorporate mindful practices, deep breathing exercises and somatic techniques in the therapy sessions.

An inner child is a psychological concept that represents the childlike aspects of our personality and emotional state. Inner child therapy involves healing emotional wounds and traumas from our childhood. We take care of ourselves as adults in the same manner as we were taken care of in childhood by parents and significant others. Inner child work is based on reconnecting with the parts of yourself that might not have received the care and attention they needed when you were younger. My experience with clients in inner child therapy is remarkable in resolving emotional triggers and wounds and developing resilience as an adult to cope with stressful circumstances in life.

Internal Family System (IFS) also known as part work, is an evidence-based psychotherapy which has been found to be effective in treating mental health issues including anxiety, addiction, trauma and depression. This therapy helps the clients to identify and understand different parts of yourself. In this process, I support clients to interact with their parts and develop a relationship with them. With continuous therapeutic work, clients are able to achieve self awareness and sense of inner peace and harmony.

As a trauma informed therapist, I employ EMDR for clients who have experienced trauma and distressing life experiences. It focuses on changing the thoughts, emotions and behaviors associated with the traumatic event. It has proven to be tranformative in coping with trauma and also facilitating the brain’s natural attempts at processing the traumatic event.
